2014 Moreau Lake Runner Instructions

Dear runners – we’re looking forward to seeing you at the 4th Moreau Lake 15k Trail Run tomorrow! This is a low-key, no-frills, challenging 15k that highlights trail running so we hope you enjoy the terrain and the experience!

This is a quick e-mail to include a map to help you get familiar with the course ahead of time. The map can be seen and printed here:

The 15k is challenging so being aware of the markers and paths ahead of time is helpful. We are putting out ribbon on the trails today to provide some assistance with sighting but you can’t rely 100% on them so please KNOW THE COURSE! The map and trail markers will guide you around.

Feel free to take your phone if you’re used to running with it – our numbers are on the map if you need to call. We will go over all this Sunday. Check in starts 7:15a. You’ll pick up your bib, pins, extra gels, etc. Pre-race safety meeting is 7:45a at the beach. Race start is at 8a. If you retire from the course early, please check in with us at the finish line so we can account for you.

There is a $6 fee to enter Moreau Lake State Park. Weather forecast is partly cloudy for Sunday with a high of 77.

We will have one aid station around 4 miles into the course. It will have water, gatorade, gels and some energy bars. If you’re used to running with water/fuel please bring it.

Top 3 overall males and females will each win a delicious pie from Smith Orchard Farms in Charlton – some of the best pies in the northeast.

If you have friends or family coming we could use an extra volunteer or two. Just let us know when you check in.

Thanks and see you tomorrow!
