Spring Update

Hope you’re all enjoying the early spring! 2012 race planning is in full swing. Here are GLR managed events for this year thus far:

  • June 10, 2012 – Hudson Crossing Triathlon
  • August 25-26 – Lake George Open Water Swims
  • Sept 8-9 – Moreau Lake Races

Each event has something new. Hudson Crossing will feature a clydesdale (male 200 lbs+) and athena (female 155 lbs+) division. We’ll also be capping the event at 275 regular entries and then open up what we’re calling “Green Spots”. The Green Spots are essentially ‘charity spots’ in that race entry fees will increase significantly and a major portion will be a charitable contribution to Hudson Crossing Park.

The Lake George Swims will see a new 4 mile point-to-point swim this year, taking place on Sunday, August 26. Start will be at Rogers Rock campground and finishing at Hague Beach. It’s a kayak-supported swim and we’re limiting this to 25 entries. We’ll have the same 2.5k, 5k and 10k swims on Saturday like we did last year. The Town of Hague is once again a major supporter of these swims and we’re grateful!

Moreau Lake Races will feature the same events as 2011 though we may be adding an event on Saturday.  Also, we will by hyping the 80s theme even more. Also, this year there will be more swag and awards.

We’ll also be timing a few races this year as we build out our timing capabilities. Patrick just went and timed the West Point Half Marathon and we have the Peppertree Furry Fun Run on tap for April 14 in Saratoga. You can actually run with your dog in this 5k!

If you or your business are interested in partnering with Green Leaf Racing as a sponsor on our events, let us know. We offer exposure to hundreds of regional athletes through our events via Web, apparel, e-mail, chips, bibs and plenty of other ways.
